Beaujolais Nouveau Day at No.20 Berkeley Square: A Total Success

Beaujolais Nouveau Day at No.20 Berkeley Square was, quite simply, a total success — a packed house, a brilliant atmosphere, and an event that delivered exactly what it promised: wine, history, French flair, and great company.
From the first arrivals (glass in hand) through to the last conversations of the night, the townhouse was buzzing. It was one of those No.20 afternoons where you could feel the room working: introductions being made, friends reconnecting, new friendships forming, and plenty of laughter between sips.

Wine, stories, and the spirit of Beaujolais
A huge thank you to Richard Davis of DBM Wines (Bristol) for bringing the story of Beaujolais Nouveau to life. His short talk was the perfect blend of insight and entertainment — colourful, engaging, and full of the traditions that make Nouveau Day more than “just another tasting.” It added a real sense of occasion and gave everyone something to raise a glass to.
Guests enjoyed generous samples of the 2025 Beaujolais Nouveau, alongside a selection of other fine wines, with tables of French-inspired graze platters keeping the conversation flowing: charcuterie, cheeses, pâtés, and plenty of French bread — the ideal pairing for an afternoon that quickly became an evening.
Music that turned the room into a celebration
We also want to thank John Slater for providing the soundtrack to the day. The accordion brought a subtle Parisian charm at first — and then, as the room warmed up, it became the spark that lifted the whole event into something genuinely special. More than one guest said it felt like a little corner of France had landed in Berkeley Square for the day.
It didn’t stop at 5pm…
Although Beaujolais Day was scheduled as a relaxed afternoon event, the energy in the building had other plans. People stayed, conversations deepened, glasses were refilled, and the celebration rolled on into the early hours of the next day — a sure sign that the combination of great wine and even better company hit the mark.
Thank you — and get your name down for 2026
To everyone who attended: thank you for making it such a memorable occasion. Events like this remind us exactly what No.20 is about — shared experiences, genuine connection, and a sense of fun you don’t get in generic venues.
And if you missed out this year, don’t worry — we’ll be doing it again.
Beaujolais Nouveau Day is always a sell-out atmosphere at No.20, so we recommend getting your name down now for 2026.
