No.20 Berkeley Square

20 Berkeley Square, Clifton, Bristol (“No.20” or “the Premises”)

 

1. Introduction

 

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern membership, access to, and use of No.20 Berkeley Square by members, guests, event hosts, and all visitors (collectively “Users”). By entering, booking, or using the Premises, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

 

No.20 Berkeley Square is a private members’ club and events venue. Access is granted at the discretion of management and may be withdrawn at any time.

 

 

2. Membership & Access

 

  • Access to the Premises is primarily limited to members and their invited guests.

  • Members must ensure all guests are signed in where required and comply with these Terms.

  • Members remain fully responsible for the conduct, behaviour, and any liabilities arising from their guests.

  • No.20 reserves the absolute right to refuse entry or remove any individual without providing a reason.

 

 

3. Use of the Premises

 

  • The Premises may be used for professional, social, and approved private events only.

  • The building, fixtures, fittings, artwork, and furnishings must be treated with care at all times.

  • Nothing may be affixed to walls, ceilings, or surfaces without prior written approval.

  • External suppliers (e.g. caterers, production, florists) must be approved in advance.

 

 

4. Bookings, Events & Hire

 

 

4.1 Booking Confirmation

 

  • All bookings are subject to availability and written confirmation by No.20.

  • A booking is not confirmed until any required deposit has been received.

 

 

4.2 Fees & Payment

 

  • Hire fees, minimum spends, and associated costs will be outlined at the time of booking.

  • Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Full payment is required in advance of the event unless credit terms have been agreed.

 

 

4.3 Cancellations

 

  • Cancellation terms will be specified at the time of booking.

  • In the absence of specific terms, cancellations within 14 days of the event may be charged at up to 100% of the booking value.

 

 

4.4 Event Responsibilities

 

  • The booking party (“Client”) is responsible for:

     

    • All attendees and their behaviour

    • Compliance with licensing laws

    • Ensuring events conclude within agreed times

    • Managing noise levels to avoid disturbance to neighbours

  • No.20 reserves the right to curtail or terminate any event that breaches these Terms.

 

 

5. Licensing & Alcohol

 

  • No.20 operates under applicable licensing laws. All Users must comply with these regulations.

  • Alcohol may only be supplied by No.20 or its approved partners unless explicitly agreed.

  • No.20 reserves the right to refuse service of alcohol at its discretion.

 

 

6. Conduct & Behaviour

 

  • Users must behave in a respectful and appropriate manner at all times.

  • The following will not be tolerated:

     

    • Disruptive or aggressive behaviour

    • Illegal activity

    • Damage to property

  • No.20 reserves the right to remove individuals and/or terminate events without refund where conduct falls below acceptable standards.

 

 

7. Protection of the Building

 

  • No.20 Berkeley Square is a heritage property and must be preserved accordingly.

  • The following are strictly prohibited unless expressly approved:

     

    • Open flames (including candles)

    • Confetti, glitter, or similar materials

    • Smoking inside the building

  • Any damage, however caused, must be reported immediately.

  • Costs of repair, cleaning, or replacement will be charged to the responsible member or Client.

 

 

8. Health & Safety

 

  • Users must comply with all health and safety requirements communicated by staff.

  • Fire exits, extinguishers, and alarms must not be obstructed or tampered with.

  • Maximum capacity limits must be observed at all times.

 

 

9. Liability & Indemnity

 

  • No.20 accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

  • Users enter and use the Premises at their own risk.

  • The Client and/or member agrees to indemnify No.20 against:

     

    • Any loss or damage caused by them or their guests

    • Any claims arising from their event or use of the Premises

  • No.20’s liability, where it cannot be excluded, shall be limited to the amount paid for the relevant booking.

 

 

10. Insurance

 

  • Clients may be required to hold appropriate public liability insurance for events.

  • Proof of insurance must be provided upon request.

 

 

11. Privacy & Data Protection

 

  • Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws.

  • CCTV operates within the Premises for safety and security purposes.

 

 

12. Intellectual Property & Brand Use

 

  • The name, branding, and imagery of No.20 Berkeley Square may not be used for promotional purposes without prior written consent.

 

 

13. Force Majeure

 

No.20 shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations where such failure is due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to fire, flood, government restrictions, or utility failure.

 

 

14. Amendments

 

No.20 reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be made available upon request and, where appropriate, communicated to members.

 

 

15. Governing Law

 

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
